Movies That Have Everything Preview: Tim Burton is BACK!!!

Holey crappin' CRAP! Tim Burton is BACK with a whole slew of movies that don't SMELL like SMACK!!! (just trying to get your attention kids!).

Let's be honest, whether Burton is directing, producing, writing, or animating the right material, he rocks the proverbial casbah. Beetlejuice,  The Nightmare Before Christmas, Batman ReturnsMars Attacks, Ed Wood,  Pee Wee's Big Adventure, 9,Edward Scissorhands,  On the flip, but not equal side of that coin, he's also been associated with some real crapfests (who hasn't) - Planet of the Apes, Batman Forever, & Cabin Boy.

David Letterman in Cabin Boy (1994)

Ok wait, stop... Cabin Boy was worth the price of admission for one reason and one reason alone: David Letterman. (yes... you do want to click the Letteman link...trust me).

Well it looks like Tim Burton will have 3 more wins in his pocket with the help of the undead in the coming months starting in May 11, 2012 with the reimagined tale of the vampire, Barnabus Collins (played in perfectly over-dramatic bravado by longtime Burton buddy, Johnny Depp) from the decade of disco in Dark Shadows. This retelling also stars Burton's wife  Helena Bonham Carter,  Jackie Earle Haley (Watchman, Human Target),  Michelle Pfeiffer (Ladyhawke, Batman Returns), and the always awesome  Chloë Grace Moretz (Let Me In, Kickass):

Comics To Rot Your Brain: Tribute To Jean “Moebius” Giraud, Master Comics Artist

Jean "Moebius" Giraud
1938-2012

Jean Giraud, an enduring figure in European comics whose fantasy and sci-fi work — which he signed with his alias, Moebius — deeply influenced alien-world imagery throughout pop culture, has lost his battle with cancer at age 73.

Jean Henri Gaston Giraud was born in May 1938 (the month before Superman arrived in a small rocket from another planet in the pages of "Action Comics" No. 1) in the Paris suburb of Nogent-sur-Marne. In his native France, where for decades comics have attracted an older readership, Giraud is considered his country's most important figure in cartooning.

Comics To Rot Your Brain: Legendary Comic Book Artist Moebius, Dead at 73

Jean Giraud aka Moebius
1938-2012

It's a sad day in the world of comics as another one of the masters has left our world - legendary comic book artist, Moebius (aka Jean Giraud) who lost his battle with cancer - he was 73.

One of the most enduring figures in European comics and pop culture, Moebius was co-founder of Heavy Metal Magazine and brought his influence and design aesthetic to such seminal films such as Aliens, Tron, and The Fifth Element.

We will have more on the great Moebuis as Pittsburgh Underground pays tribute to one of the greats - stay tuned...

PU Presents: Dead Zed Zombie Brain Pickin' With 7 Year Old Isaac Cromer

PU Presents Dead Zed Zombie: Episode 5, Season 2
Brain Pickin' With 7 Year Old Isaac Cromer

Howdy doo all you gruesome ghoulies! It's that time again for another episode of Pittsburgh Underground's favorite frontman Dead Zed Zombie! For this very special episode Zed corrupts the youth of America directly as he warps the brain one of PU's bestest buds, seven year old Isaac Cromer!!!

Isaac and Zed go way back (at least seven years) and have formed a bond that only a zombie and boy could. Occasionally bringing him dim-witted bullies, mean teachers, and the occasional girl scout to munch on, Isaac has been a true pal to his undead brother from another mother!

In this episode, Zed picks Isaac's brain with some hard hitting questions that only a dead (or undead) dude could! So sit back, nab a snack, and relax that crack as we head down the halls of adolescent anarchy with this new dynamic duo!

Don't forget to check back soon for more Dead Zed Zombie!  - we'll be featuring more of our good friend Isaac Cromer in future episodes to come!

For this round of rotten, Barnabus and the gang premiere the Jason Daley slasher flick BEWARE.

The town of Shady Grove holds many dark secrets. Amongst them is the sadistic tale of "Shane", a boy who was tortured and chained to a tree as a youngster. Legend has it that he wanders the woods in search of revenge. But no proof of his existence has ever been discovered... until now...
