Tits For Telly: Stranger Things 2 STARTS TODAY on Netflix!!!

Greetings all you ghouls and fools! The wait is finally over and just in time for the Halloween weekend as Stranger Things Season 2 starts TODAY for your binging pleasure on Netflix!!! Check out the trailer below!

Stranger Things 2 (2017 Trailer / Netflix)

Created, written, and directed by the Duffer Brothers (Matt and Ross), we revisit our favorite time period - the 1980’s, as more otherworldly mayhem ensues in Hawkins, Indiana as the ‘Upside Down’ isn’t finished with our main heroes Mike Wheeler (Finn Wolfhard), Dustin Henderson (Gaten Matarazzo), Lucas Sinclair, (Caleb McLaughlin), and Will Byers (Noah Schnapp) who was missing in the aforementioned ‘Upside Down’ for most of the first season only to return at the end, but now with a mysterious connection to this bizarro universe.

Also returning is Will’s big brother Jonathan (Charlie Heaton) his mother Joyce (Winona Ryder), Jonathan’s crush Nancy Wheeler (Natalia Dyer) and her boyfriend Steve Harrington (Joe Keery). Also returning is Police Chief Jim Hopper (David Harbour) who was found dropping off Eggo waffles in the woods in the last episode of season 1 for our telekinetic heroine Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown) who has been missing after the events of last year (don’t worry - she’s back too)!

Linnea Berthelsen, Sean Astin, and Paul Riser join Stranger Things 2

Joining is the cast is Goonie legend Sean Astin as a Bobby Newby, a former schoolmate of both Joyce and Hooper and rumored boyfriend of poor Joyce, who after last season, needs a little happy in her life. Chances are that this love triangle between her, Bobby, and Hooper will only complicate her world further as we find out what’s happened to Will this season. Paul Reiser will also be joining the fun, playing Owens, a Department of Energy executive tasked with containing the events of last season. Danish actress Linnea Berthelsen will be playing Roman who's described as "an emotionally damaged, magnetic young woman who suffered a great loss as a child. Although she does not live in Hawkins, she is mysteriously connected to the supernatural events at the lab".

Dacre Montgomery and Sadie Sink join Stranger Things 2

Finally, joining the kids is tomboy Max (portrayed by Sadie Sink) and her big brother Billy (played by Power Rangers star Dacre Montgomery) who’s been described as one of the ‘human villains’ of the show - steals girlfriends away from boyfriends, great at drinking games, and drives a black Camaro (a very 80’s villain indeed!).

What About Barb?

The one thing on most minds of most fans is ‘what about Barb”? Barb Holland (portrayed by Shannon Purser), became quite the sensation after her character was killed off by one of the creepy crawlies of the Upside Down.

Matt Duffer stated that although she won’t be back for season 2,  “Barb will not be forgotten. We’ll make sure there’s some justice for Barb. People get very frustrated, understandably, that the town doesn’t seem to be really dealing with Barb. That stuff is all happening. We’re just not spending any screen time on it. Season One actually takes place over the course of six or seven days – it’s a really short period of time,” he explained. “So part of what we want to do with hypothetical Season 2 is to explore the repercussions of everything that happened.”

Stranger Things 2 starts TODAY on Netflix so grab your favorite Halloween candy, turn off the lights, and binge those sweet nightmares!!!

Tits For Telly: It's The Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown TONIGHT ON ABC!!!

Tonight’s the night to grab your blanket, and head out to your nearest pumpkin patch! It’s The Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown airs tonight, October 19th at 8:00 PM TONIGHT on ABC !!!

This Charles Schulz classic was produced and animated by the legendary Bill Melendez (who also provided the voices for both Snoopy and Woodstock) and features Linus, Sally, Lucy, Violet, Schroeder, Pig-Pen, Patty, Snoopy, and of course Charlie Brown. The special originally aired in 1966 on CBS, with ABC picking up the rights in 2001. Check out this original trailer!

(1966 Promo Trailer)

This timeless Halloween special also marks the first time that the world saw Snoopy dressed in full aviator attire in search of 'The Red Barron'. Snoopy first assumed the guise of the World War I Flying Ace in a Peanuts comic strip from October 1965, donning vintage aviator hat, scarf, and goggles to take on the Red Baron from atop his doghouse.

The concept came to Schulz after a discussion he had with his son, Monte, about the Red Baron. “They both had ideas about who influenced that,” Jill Schulz said of her older brother and father, referencing the fact that they both took credit for inventing flying Snoopy. It was a year later when the beagle’s alter ego made its television debut in “It’s the Great Pumpkin.”

“As we were developing the script, Mr. Schulz lamented almost as an aside, ‘Too bad we can’t have Snoopy fly,'” Mendelson recalled. “Melendez, pretending to be offended, said, ‘Hey, I’m an animator. I can do anything, including a dog flying a doghouse.’ We all laughed and that’s how Bill Melendez and [animator] Bill LittleJohn created that scene.”

Snoopy steering his doghouse through the air is now an iconic image. It appeared in subsequent animations, including The Peanuts Movie, and even became a postage stamp.

This is one of the most beloved holiday specials for those of us who are crazy about Halloween and the Peanuts gang so don't forget to tune into ABC (WTAE Channel 4 in Pittsburgh) at 8:00 PM for It's The Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown.

Movies That Have Everything: Professor Marston and the Wonder Women STARTS TODAY!!!

All things Wonder Woman continues with the opening of Professor Marston and the Wonder Women. Check out the trailer below!

Professor Marston and the Wonder Women (2017 Trailer / Annapurna Pictures)

This tale written and directed by Angela Robinson stars Luke Evans as Professor William Moulton Marston (taking the pen name of Charles Moulton), the psychologist, inventor, and creator of Wonder Woman and the two women that inspired the character - his wife Elizabeth (Rebecca Hall) and their 'extended' relationship with Olive Byrne (Bella Heathcote)

In a 1940’s interview conducted by Olive Byrne (under the pseudonym Olive Richard) that was published in Family Circle (titled ‘Don’t Laugh at the Comics), Marston spoke of “the great education potential” in comic books which caught the attention of comics publisher Max Gaines who hired him as an educational consultant for National Periodicals and All-American Publications which would eventually merge to become DC Comics.

Professor William Moulton Martson aka Charles Marston
Creator of Wonder Woman

It was idea of Marston’s wife Elizabeth to create a female superhero who would not only conquer evil with her physical strength, but also with love. In a 1943 issue of ‘The American Scholar’, Marston, who was also the inventor of the polygraph test that also inspired Wonder Woman's lasso of truth wrote:

"Not even girls want to be girls so long as our feminine archetype lacks force, strength, and power. Not wanting to be girls, they don't want to be tender, submissive, peace-loving as good women are. Women's strong qualities have become despised because of their weakness. The obvious remedy is to create a feminine character with all the strength of Superman plus all the allure of a good and beautiful woman.”

It wasn’t until 2017 when the majority of Marston’s personal papers arrived at the Schlesinger Library at the Radcliffe Institute for Advanced Study that helped form the backstory of the creation of Wonder Woman that included the tale of his unconventional personal life with both Elizabeth and Olive along with a connection to Margaret Sanger who was one of the most influential feminists of the 20th Century.

Although William Marston died of cancer on May 2, 1947, both Elizabeth and Olive continued to live together until Olive's death in the late 1980's with Elizabeth passing in 1993 at age of 100. William Marston was inducted into the Comic Book Hall of Fame in 2006.

Professor Marston and the Wonder Women premieres today in theaters near you.

Movies That Have Everything: Blade Runner 2049

It only took 35 years, but the future is NOW! Blade Runner 2049 finally graces the silver screen TODAY!!! Check out the amazing trailer below!

Blade Runner 2049 (2017 Trailer / Warner Bros.)

The gang here at good ol’ PU were preteens when we snuck into Ridley Scott’s original Blade Runner back in 1982 (our first R rated scifi extravaganza!) with a very young Harrison Ford in the title role of Blade Runner Rick Deckard as he hunted four murderous replicants who return to earth in search of their creator only to barely escape with his the replicant love of his life, Rachael (Sean Young).

Fast forward to 2049 as the story focuses on new Blade Runner, Agent K (Ryan Gosling) who’s discovery of a long buried secret that puts him on a path in search of the infamous Rick Deckard (Harrison Ford) who’s been missing for 30 years.

Denis Villeneuve directs this long overdue sequel that also stars Dave Bautista (Sapper Morton), Robin Wright (Lieutenant Joshi), Ana de Armas (Joi), and Jared Leto as the sinister Niander Wallace.

Blade Runner was and still is one of our favorite science fiction movies from one of the best eras in movie history as the 1980’s brought us the invention of the classic summer blockbuster.  Blade Runner was originally released just as Harrison Ford was celebrating his success in Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back, with Star Wars: Return of the Jedi being released only one year after his stint as the replicant hunter, Rick Deckard. Although Blade Runner was never considered a huge hit in theaters when it was first released in theaters, the advent of videotape made it a success and the cult classic that it is today.

So far, the word on the street is that Blade Runner 2049 might possibly be even better than the original (we’ll have to see that with our own eyes to believe it)!  We can’t wait to finally have the answers that us original Blade Runner fans have wanted to know for years - most specifically, what happened to Rick and Rachael after their daring escape together into the unknown future. Blade Runner 2049 hits theaters and IMAX today!
