Movies That Have Everything: War for the Planet of the Apes STARTS TODAY!!!

Happy Friday everyone! Today Andy Serkis reprises his role as sentient ape leader Caesar leader who’s not monkeying around anymore as War for the Planet of the Apes hits theaters today! Check out the trailer below!

War for the Planet of the Apes (2017 Trailer / 20th Century Fox)

This is the third movie in the rebooted franchise and second one directed by Matt Reeves that takes us even closer to a world  dominated by apes. Caesar and the gang have suffered imaginable losses resulting in their leader struggling with his darker instincts on a quest to avenge his kind. Check out this amazing interview with Andy Serkis himself on Late Night with Stephen Colbert as he explains Caesar’s dilemma, a great look into how motion capture enhances the actors craft, and some Tweet reading from an old friend.

Along with Serkis stars Woody Harrelson as ‘The Colonel’ and main nemesis for our simian hero. Joining the cast are Steve Zahn (Bad Ape), Karin Konoval (Maurice), Terry Notary (Rocket), Ty Olsson (Red Donkey), Michael Adamthwaite (Luca), Toby Kebbell (Koba), Gabreil Chavarria (Preacher), Judy Greer (Cornelia), Sara Canning (Lake), Devyn Dalton (Cornelius), Aleks Paunovic (Winter), Alessandro Juliani (Spear), Max Lloyd-Jones (Blue Eyes) and Amiah Miller playing Nova  (although playing a much younger version of the mute beauty), who’s character is fondly remembered by apes aficionados from the original 1968 Planet of the Apes film that was originally portrayed by the unforgettable Linda Harrison.

The gang here at good ol’ PU are bananas for Planet of the Apes and can’t wait to see this next installment (and hoping to see a proper ‘Planet of the Apes’ continuation of the story that brings us full circle featuring our lost astronauts from the original story that finally make it back to Earth). War for the Planet of the Apes leaps into theaters today!
