Tits for Telly: Red Dwarf - Series X Airs THIS Fall!!!

Greetings smeg-heads! A super nova of joy has just exploded in jolly old England as news of
Red Dwarf, Series X will be airing in the U.K. (with the U.S. not far behind) this fall! Check out the trailer!

Red Dwarf: Series X (2012 Trailer)

For those of you who've been living in a bubble for close to two decades, Red Dwarf is the science fiction comedy brain child of Rob Grant and Doug Naylor that's been on again, off again, on again (in typical Britcom style) since 1988! The title, Red Dwarf, refers to the name of the British mining ship that our central characters reside on - big as a city and resilient as the Star Ship Enterprise, Red Dwarf looks the cousin of  Mystery Science Theater's Satellite of Love with a red paint job.

Tits For Telly: Yerz Trooley - My Awakening...

…or how I was nudged into sci-fi by Dear Hubby & Hot Toddy

Truth be told, I was kinda sorta there already. I’d watched Star Trek as a kid and count Contact and Iron Man as all-time faves. I watch Independence Day frequently to enjoy Will Smith reaming out the unconscious alien with, “I coulda been at a barbeque!” and Randy Quaid hollering, “hello boys, I’m BAA—AACK!” just prior to flying his nuke-loaded fighter jet into the alien weapons bay.

The Cast of Farscape
(1999-2003)

Then I married a guy who pushed me over the edge. Dear Hubby sucked Yerz Trooley into Farscape first, then Stargate SG-1, Stargate Atlantis, Star Trek: the Next Generation, and The Adventures of Brisco County, Jr. When we ran out of episodes on SyFy and BBC, I experienced uncontrolled jonesing for space battles and superhero action. I watched reruns of reruns just for a fix. Dear Hubby nodded with approval, with a few he-he-hes off on the side as he fed the beast.

Announcement: PU Pulp Posters Updated & Online!!!

Wow! To say this last week has been a fantastic pain in the ass would be the understatement! As you all know by now, we lost our original URL this week due to a defective renewal tool brought to you by the autonomous entity known as Google.

We are now PUzine.com - bookmark us now and tell everyone you know!!!

Granted, the only major change to our address is the removal of the 'dash' between 'PU' and 'zine.com'. However, this minor upset put chaos theory into motion as EVERYTHING related to our old URL needed to be scrubbed of the fatal 'dash' in our once proud name. This included our famed PU Pulp Posters.

This PU Freebie is something that Pittsburgh Underground provides to our viewers every month for you to print out and stick on your memo boards, your favorite pet, or even your favorite grandparent - whatever you want!!! Then you can use your smart phone to scan the QR code on the posters to link to us from anywhere in the world to see what's happening here at good ol' PU.
What's A QR Code? This is a QR Code.

With that said, please check out our PU Pulp Poster section, download your favorites and hook up with us via your smartphone. We bake a new art every month so you will always have a fresh poster in order to connect to us.

So check out this BRAND NEW PU PULP Poster from our old pal Chops Huber right now and check back with us later this month for ANOTHER PU Pulp Poster right here, exclusively at Pittsburgh Underground!!!

PU Pulp Posters: The Scent of Shock / Issue 2

The Scent of Shock/ Issue 2 /
Maniacal Mechanical Madness At Carnegie Mellon
PU Artist, Chops Huber
(Right Click Image to Download a Full Version)

Greetings one and all! Somehow, someway, we've managed to finally to get our technology up and running again, allowing us to share what is now our 22nd PU Pulp Poster. This PU Freebie is yours to print, hang stick, staple, bolt, screw, glue, or velcro to your wall, fridge, loved one, or hated enemy. The QR Codes and Web Address have been updated on ALL PU PULP POSTERS allowing our viewers to use their smartphones to follow us anywhere on the planet at our new web address - PUzine.com

This month, our old pal Chops Huber has cobbled together The Scent of Shock / Issue 2 / Mechanical Madness At Carnegie Mellon.

It never fails to amaze when life imitates art with the last couple of days being no exception! PU has had nothing but technologies failures all week from cash registers eating our receipts, Google completely boning us with their 'auto-renewal' domain name feature (click here for that story), and now famed Mojang, the makers of Minecraft have patched our beloved game to no longer feature a favorite 'duplication' exploit that made the game so much more convenient to play.

What can we say - there is no worse fate to geeks like us than when our own technology turns on us which has definitely been the case this week. We are however, Pittsburgh Underground - used to clawing our way up to the surface after being buried in the rot - even in the rot of the technology quagmire.

Stay tuned gang - we're still getting all the bricks put back in place to make Pittsburgh Underground bigger and stronger than ever before - as always our NEW and FINAL web address is PUzine.com - bookmark us now and tell everyone you know! We have a lot of really great surprises in the works and we want to share them with everyone! Thanks again for tuning in and expect another  PU Pulp Poster by the end of this month!

Announcement: PU Pulp Posters Temporarily Disabled

Hello again everyone. Just a quick transmission to let everyone know that our free PU Pulp Posters will be temporarily disabled for a few days due to the infamous Google debacle that plagued our website yesterday.

No worries though, we are merely updating a few elements on each one (most specifically, QR codes and the URL addresses) just as a precautionary measure for all those who want to download them to hang on their fridge, stick to their lunch box, or tape to the inside of their lockers in the future.

Although these have always just been a fun way for our PU Artists to express themselves, they've also proven to be valuable tools for those who want to quick link to our website via smart phones or by way of good old fashioned keyboard clicking so we want to make sure the web address information is correct.

We also have a brand new PU Pulp Poster from our good pal Chops Huber to release once this feature is up and running at full capacity again.

Thanks again for all your patience and understanding during this time of transition and as always, please remember to change your bookmarks to PUzine.com and whenever possible, let everyone know where to find us at this new address. More updates to come so stay tuned...

UPDATE: All PU Pulp Posters have been UPDATED as of August 3rd, 2012 to include revisions to our QR Code and Website Address - PUzine.com -  Download and print any of these PU Freebies and hang them on your fridge, stick them to your skateboard, or glue them to your little sister's head - THEN use your smartphone to scan the codes to follow Pittsburgh Underground wherever you are!

Announcement: New Web Address UPDATE!!!

For all of you who have found your way back to us, the gang here at Pittsburgh Underground wanted to say thanks for all your patience and understanding during this unexpected time of transition.

For those of you who have no idea what I'm talking about, we recently and very unexpectedly were forced to change our web address (now PUzine.com - please tell EVERYONE and BOOKMARK US NOW!!!) due to an epic FAIL brought to you by Google.  Don't get us wrong - we've been huge Google supporters and hate to be critical of them, but to say this ordeal has been a pleasant one would be an understatement.

No need to beat a dead horse - I briefly stated what caused the calamity in this article explaining what happened earlier this morning.

With that out of the way, we are well on our way to making modifications where necessary so we redirect everyone back to Pittsburgh Underground's FINAL url address here at (and let's keep repeating this) :

Please note that the only major change from our old web address is that we had to remove the dash from between PU and Zine. Also please note that when we state FINAL URL, it means we have purchased the naming rights to PUzine.com for the next 10 years - good for us and great for all!!!
On with the updates. Luckily, the blog was fairly untouched with the exception of revising some of the graphics and text for both this site, our Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube pages. There are also links for our social media pages in our welcome message directly under our header for those who want to easily follow us or just watch some old school (and some new school) Dead Zed Zombie.

Speaking of Dead Zed Zombie, believe it or not, I was right in the middle of some 'maintenance' for Zed while this complete digital breakdown of our old URL took place. Yes, even though he is 'undead', he still requires some spackle and spit once and a while. In the meantime, all the Dead Zed Zombie videos are still available here at PUzine.com or on our YouTube Channel updated with the most up-to-date info on Pittsburgh Underground.  Also, we are in the process of whipping up some new adventures with Zed, Wolfie, and Rico so stay tuned because we have some surprises clawing their way up from the underground!

We also have a brand new PU Pulp Poster from our old pal Chops Huber that we were trying to post last night that we will have on the site as soon as we get the serious stuff out of the way first.
In the next few weeks while we re-establish with the outside world, please help us get the word out about PUzine.com. We're only on year two of this grand experiment and we want to continue to bring our viewers all the best in pop-culture, kitchy artwork, original films, local theater, and anything else we can grab our hands on and share with you. You are the reason Pittsburgh Underground is successful and for that we thank you!

Stay tuned for more updates in the next couple of days as we untangle ourselves from the digital mire!
