Movies That Have Everything Preview: Fright Night

It's summer movie season once again and the gang from PU is uber-excited for the slew of new flix coming out this in the next few months. One remake that we are particularly excited about is Fright Night:

Fright Night (2011) Trailer Courtesy of TrailerAddict.com

For those of you who have been sleeping for 3 decades, Fright Night is the remake of the 1985 vampire hit about Charlie Brewser (William Ragsdale), a teenager who's next door neighbor, Jerry Dandrige (Chris Sarandon) , is actually a vampire. The hitch is no one believes Charlie's story until he convinces local Fright Night host, Peter Vincent (the fearless vampire killer, played by the immortal Roddy McDowall) to aid him on his quest to destroy the blood sucker! Check out the 1985 trailer below:

Fright Night Trailer (1985)

This new remake stars Anton Yelchin (Chekov from the new Star Trek Reboot) as Charlie Brewser, David Tennant (of Dr. Who fame) as Peter Vincent, Christopher Mintz-Plasse (McLovin' from Superbad) as his pal 'Evil Ed', and Colin Farrell as the creature of the night, Jerry Dandrige.

The screenplay was written by the beautiful and talented Marti Noxon, one of our favorite writers who is best known for her work our favorite TV series, Buffy The Vampire Slayer. Check out Marti's interview here on Collider.com.

Will the new Fright Night rise to the occasion? With Marti Noxon in charge, our hopes are set high. Fright Night premeires This August in theaters near you!
