It Reeks Of Dinos / Issue 2: The Dragon Dame of Dormont...
It Reeks of Dinos / Issue 2 / The Dragon Dame of Dormont.
I wake up. It is hot
and a fog moves thru the trees hiding the sun.
Here - an insect buzzes. There - a flapping of leather wings - a soft
crunch of leaves. It is early and I
have far to go. The saurian I have tamed
is quick in body and mind and will obey my commands. I bring nothing with me that will slow us
down. Not the hook vine, the hunters nets, nor the feather cape that
hides me in its shadows and silence. There is no time to lose. I only
bring the long tooth, the sharp tooth, and hope that we won't need them. I can bend the saurians to
my will - much like this one who will carry me to fulfill my tribal duty.
There are other dangers found in the forest, the desert,
and in the air. Just one more reason to use
the lizard giants. I will be grateful
for the fangs and claws should larger trouble find me. All day I travel through the trees as I follow the
river. That is the direction I saw it
fall.
Something from the sky dropped out of the blue and vanished
over the horizon. There was the faintest
distant boom - a dull thud of pounded dirt.
It was the color of the sun at dusk and moved through a red mist.
There is no telling how long or far I will have to go to
find this thing. I can only follow the
vanishing vapors left in the passing and hope.
However, there are other signs to track. The signs are everywhere. Many new
beasts have been seen at the edges of the forest. Something has driven them here, predator and
prey alike. The forest is changing. My home.
I will seek out this sky thing and protect my
home. The leaders have chosen me. They trust my knowledge of the trees and sand
and to find my way. I agree to find the cause and return to the people. I am
swift and will never end in my search. Once found, I will tell the leaders…they will know what to do…
Don't forget to check back with us again next month for another PU Pulp Poster our FREE thank you for dropping by Pittsburgh Underground!
