Announcement: The Sangawa Project Anime Con is COMING July 15th through 17th!!!

Welcome and domo arigato my anime aficionados! Do you have an overwhelming interest in manga, anime, and video games? (the gang at good ol' Pittsburgh Underground does!).

The Sangawa Project, Pittsburgh's anime-themed event for adults (+18 years and older) will be taking place July 15th through 17th at the Best Western, Parkway Center Inn in Greentree (875 Greentree Road, Pittsburgh, PA / Phone: 412/922-7070). Think the good ol' days of Voltron, Robotech, and Speed Racer! This con will have that and more!

The Sangawa Project has many features of your standard anime convention - panels, workshops, costume contests, gaming, and vendors. Where it differs is the content.

Video games, for example, features a Super Street Fighter IV tournament alongside a classic F-Zero time trial event. Actual pachinko machines from Japan will be available to play so guests can see what the hype is without traveling all the way to Japan.

Panels and workshops are created with adults in mind and range between the humorous and the thoughtful. A cash bar is available to guests 21+ during evening events in the main stage area.

Finally, of course, there's a special industry guest: Matthew K. Miller, none other than the voice of Tenchi Masaki in the Tenchi Muyo and Tenchi Universe anime series that were so prominent in Toonami's glory days.

So zip on over to The Sangawa Project Official Website were discounted preregistration is available until July 5th. Tickets at the door are $35 and get you in for the whole weekend (Friday evening until Sunday evening). Hope to see you there!
